About
I am a professional writer, editor and proofreader based in East Yorkshire.
I studied Professional Writing at Falmouth College of Arts and I have nearly two decades of experience gained within the franchise, travel, education, compliance and e-learning industries. I have worked as a copy writer, producing web and seo copy, business manuals, brochures and magazine articles, and an editor for large international organisations and tiny startups alike.
I love words: I love reading them, I love writing them. My superpower is spotting when a word or letter is out of place – I can’t switch it off, which is handy when working, less so when you spot a typo at a funeral on a coffin. (True story.)
I have written articles about everything, from ghosts to cheese and cardboard tubes... I’m a born researcher and love the randomness of the work I do. I'm passionate about proofreading and am a safe pair of hands where spelling and grammar are concerned. I started scrypsi to bring added value to businesses and companies of all sizes; even an hour of an editor or writer’s time can transform a website or publication exponentially.
When I’m not reading or writing for work, I’m probably doing it for fun. I’m a confirmed history nerd, genealogist, and also a professional archaeologist.
